Ånge

Ånge is the central town of the municipality and transitioned from being a forest village to a station community when the railway was completed in 1881. Here, the Northern Main Line and the Mid Line meet, and National Road 83 also crosses the town.

In Ånge, you can find all types of services such as municipal offices, a health centre, a dentist, a pharmacy, a liquor store, grocery stores, service shops, and restaurants. There are also preschools, primary schools, and a high school.

The cultural life in Ånge is active with several local associations and events. Ånge has a library, an art gallery, and several historical sites that attract both residents and visitors. Sports are also important in Ånge, with sports facilities and clubs offering activities such as football, ice hockey, and skiing.

About 3 km west along National Road 83 lies Sinnenas Konstpark, which is open all year round. Here, beautiful art is combined with plants in fine harmony.

Alby

About 10 km west of Ånge lies Alby by Lake Aldern. It is a very typical community with stories from the early railway era and the industrialisation of Västernorrland.

Even today, Alby houses several larger industrial companies, and currently, there is a major investment in industrial symbiosis and the establishment of a hydrogen plant that will produce green hydrogen.

Here, there is a preschool with a lovely outdoor environment with forest and nature right around the corner and a small bathing place in the middle of the village.

Borgsjöbyn

About 15 km east of Ånge along E14 lies Borgsjö, a little gem by the shore of Borgsjön. Here, the mountains rise in the landscape, and the valley is breathtakingly beautiful.

In Borgsjö lies one of Sweden’s most beautiful rococo churches and a clock tower from the 18th century. The 58-mile-long pilgrimage route St Olavsleden passes through the landscape. At St Olof's spring, you can drink healthy water on the journey.

Here, there is also an active local history farm, perhaps Västernorrland’s most beautiful rest area, as well as Naturum Ånge and the Ånge Tourist Office.

Erikslund

Five minutes’ drive west of Borgsjö Village lies Erikslund, located on the southern side of Ljungan along the old road 83. It is a beautiful valley with high mountains and the river Ljungan winding through the landscape.

There is a primary school from preschool class to year nine.

The small railway stop by the shore of Borgsjön has been called "Sweden’s most beautiful railway stop." Trains stop here several times a day, allowing for commuting to work in other places.

Parteboda

The village of Parteboda lies along the Mid Line between Ånge and Erikslund. Since 1996, there has been an active village association organising various activities throughout the year.

The association also maintains hiking trails and ski tracks. Adjacent to the Hälsostigen hiking trail is an outdoor gym. The village cottage, Melanders, is a newly renovated venue with a handicapped accessible toilet and a fully equipped kitchen that can be rented from the village association.

Another recently refurbished small log cabin is Kalvkojan, beautifully situated by the water with a barbecue area inside.

Among the sights, Åsjöberget west of Parteboda is notable. The lookout point, 285 metres above sea level with a wind-sheltered barbecue area, is a popular excursion destination. Another beautiful place with swimming opportunities is Raskviken.

Hallsta

The small village of Hallsta is beautifully situated right by Ljungan, about 5 km outside Ånge along road 83 towards Sundsvall. A beautiful bridge over Ljungan leads to several villages, including Parteboda. There are also nearby small villages like Ensillre, Granboda, and Näset. The village has a very active association that conducts many well-attended events throughout the year.
